Interview with
Marianne van den Anker
MADE BY
ANEJ, SUSANNA, JOHN, ZAZA & ROOSMARIE
Susanna:
You’ve seen our film and concept of our plan for a hologram-system to implement in 2045 by the ministry of health, expecting people to improve their health because all their biodata will be visible to everyone. What do you think about our future plan?
Marianne:
The whole idea really scares me. The idea of big brother watching you and the government and health insurance interfering in our lives is a scary thought.
We are not going to judge each other on who we are, but it will be based on the hologram and biodata.
In current society the role of men is already becoming less important. In the future men may become less valuable, because of bio data being visible; among which the amount of sperm cells.
As a result certain men won’t be considered as a future father anymore.
I see the future of the man end sadly.
I am an ex alderman of the city of Rotterdam for public health, next to that I am a criminologist as well.
From the point of view of the municipality we could decide to only allow vital citizens to live in Rotterdam. “…if your hologram is this bad, go and live in Amsterdam.”
Also from my criminologist point of view I think a lively market with fake bio data will arise, people will try to avoid it and find hologram-free-zones. The black market will trade the super good holograms, therefore the idea of transparency will probably prove inefficient.
To conclude, I think every future scenario has it’s flaws and advantages.
